Ms. Sheyla Randle, One Behavioral’s certified PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner), is trained to treat a wide range of mental health issues in patients ranging in age from 12 to 65, with an emphasis on mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and ADHD. Ms. Randle is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), with Masters of Science in Nursing. She earned her bachelor’s (2013) and master’s degree (2017) in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology/Psychology minor from the University of Houston Downtown (2011).
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Sheyla worked as a registered nurse in a variety of psychiatric settings including, adult/adolescent inpatient units, psychiatric emergency services, triage, and intake.
She became interested in psychiatry while earning her first bachelor’s degree. She participated in undergraduate research programs that ignited interest in potential mechanisms that contribute to mental illness. She fell in love with psychiatry through experiences working with underserved and vulnerable populations.
Sheyla acknowledges that there are multifactorial contributors to mental health. She firmly believes that each individual should be treated uniquely, striving to reach personal goals. Her thorough knowledge of the most up-to-date diagnostic and therapeutic procedures enables her to provide patients with best-evidenced base care.
She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nursing Association, Texas Advanced Practice Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Sheyla believes in communicating with her patients openly and honestly. She holds herself to the highest degree of care and strives to assist each individual in living a happy and healthy life daily.
