Dr. Emily Wu has dedicated over a decade to the study and treatment of psychiatric and neurocognitive disorders, with a particular focus on advanced medication management and cutting-edge therapies such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Wu completed her residency in General Psychiatry at the University of Texas at Houston, where she trained at one of the national largest psychiatric hospitals. She also holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from the University of Texas at Houston.
Dr. Wu has extensive experience in neuromodulation treatments, including deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) , Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS), and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). These therapies are used to treat mood and neurocognitive disorders. Her passion for research drives her long-term goal of advancing treatments for mental health conditions, particularly neurocognitive disorders.
Dr. Wu has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is an active committee member of several esteemed professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians Academic Committee.
She has received multiple prestigious national awards, including the American Association Research Colloquium for Junior Investigators, the American Academy of Addiction Medicine Ruth Fox Scholarship, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry Travel Fellowship, the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology Clinical Trials Workshop Fellowship, and the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology New Investigator Award. Additionally, she serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals.
