Keshil Waterland is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over twenty years of experience working in the mental health field. Keshil has worked with children, adolescents, and their parents as well as adults in providing care and treatment in the areas of trauma, attachment, mood disorders, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, and life challenges.
She treats patients aged 5 to 60 years old with evidence-based techniques like CBT and DBT to help them understand and build healthy coping skills to manage their emotions and improve interpersonal relationships. For younger children, Keshil also utilizes Play Therapy and applies her strong knowledge of Child Development. Keshil is currently working towards being a Registered Play Therapist.
Keshil graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education and has worked in outpatient settings, private practice, and residential treatment centers. Keshil has received training in managing parent-child relationships as well as interpersonal issues. She takes an eclectic approach to work with people, beginning with listening and validating the individual’s social-emotional state before moving on with a solution-focused plan.
Keshil’s goal in therapy is to provide a safe, warm and nurturing environment with a focus on teaching skills and affirming the individual’s strengths and resiliency to promote growth and healing.
