Maritza Martinez Wardrop is a Licensed Professional Counselor at One Behavioral Health. Maritza attended University of Houston- Main Campus and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and continued her graduate studies at Sam Houston State University and earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2014. Maritza became a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern (LPC-Intern) in January 2015 then became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2017.
Maritza enjoys working with adolescents and adults and uses a variety of techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Reality Therapy. She specializes in depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar, grief, self esteem issues, panic, and perinatal mood disorders (such as postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety).
Maritza spent 2 years at Intracare Hospital as a group therapist for their dual diagnosis clients and 6 years at New Dimensions Day Treatment Center-Clear Lake as a group therapist in their adult mental health department.
Maritza enjoys listening to her clients and gaining an understanding of their background, who they are, who they want to be, and how Maritza can be of service in helping them to reach their goals.
